Route Campos de Cima da Serra

Mountain Region


   



The cities belonging to the highest and coldest region of the State are part of this route. In the winter hundreds of tourists come to this region in order to enjoy the negative temperatures and hoping to see some snow. Mother nature was generous with this part of Rio Grande do Sul. The landscape is very charming because of it’s natural treasures, such as canyons, rivers, waterfalls, forests and green fields.

Cities:


Bom Jesus, Cambará do Sul, Esmeralda, Jaquirana, Monte Alegre dos Campos, Muitos Capões, São Francisco de Paula, São José dos Ausentes and Vacaria.

   

    
Don’t miss:

- The Aparados da Serra Park and the Serra Geral Park, with canyons visited by tourists coming from all over the world. Also, try to visit the Itaimbezinho Canyon and the Fortaleza Canyon, in Cambará do Sul. As well as the Monte Negro Pike, located in the city of São José dos Ausentes; 

- The rural tourism gives the options of horseback riding, fishing, waterfalls and  cozy family inns; 

- Fishing the Rainbow Trouts at Silveira River; 

- The Crioulo International Rodeo, the biggest rodeo in Latin America.



Make your trip longer:

- Swimming in the Maquine Falls and Beaches of Torres;

- Following the Rural Route Vale do Paraiso, located in the city of Três Cachoeiras.
